Eagle Heights Presbyterian Church
Welcome
We
are glad you’re here visiting our website! We’re here to
serve the Lord and to serve you. We hope these pages will give you a
glimpse of who were are, what we’re about, and how we do things.
EHPC is a church that exists to bring glory to God, as we try to put
Jesus Christ first in everything that we do. We believe the Bible is
God’s true communication to us – true because inspired by
the Holy Spirit, trustworthy, authoritative, and adequate to guide us
in our lives and to show us the way of salvation from sin. We love
Jesus and want to exalt Him because He alone lived a perfect life
(which we are obligated to live, as God’s creatures) and He alone
made a perfect sacrifice (to cover our sins). These works of Jesus are
the only acceptable works to make us righteous in God’s sight,
and we receive them as gifts by faith alone. This 'grace' has changed
and is changing us; it has brought us joy that we wish to share with
you.
As we learn about Christ in the Scriptures, we grow in His love, and we
find a growing desire to love others. This is His purpose in His
church, to grow us in spiritual maturity as we reach out to others, to
introduce them to Christ, to the preeminence of God in all things, and
to help them grow in the joy of living for Him. Our ministries of
worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, and outreach all are designed to
fulfill this goal.
We began in 1992 as a small group of people wanting a church in this
region that honored Christ by believing His gospel, was true to His
Word, and had a passion to reach our community with these life-changing
truths of the Old and New Testaments. We have grown since then, meeting
in several different locations, and now at the Daniel Morgan Middle School
in Winchester. Here we worship and do some of our ministry. The
rest of our ministry occurs from various home centers throughout our
region while we plan to purchase our own property and building.
We are conservative and Reformed in our theology, meaning we believe
the great historic, Biblical truths re-discovered at the time of the
Protestant Reformation; we are Presbyterian in our leadership, meaning
we follow the Bible’s teaching that we elect and then are
governed by qualified servant elders; and we are committed to every
member using his or her God-given gifts to serve Him.
Our worship uses music and other elements from the best of the
Church’s rich past history and our own contemporary culture.
While we are serious about worshiping and serving an awesome, holy God,
our style is relaxed and gracious, because our faith is a gracious
faith that welcomes undeserving people.
Our desire is that God would give us the opportunity to get to know you
and to help you “grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus
Christ.” We are here to serve you, so please let us know how we
can do that!
